Norm Friberg

Norm is a native of New York City with degrees in mechanical and environmental engineering. With more than 25 years corporate experience, Norm developed a reputation for building and leading high-performance teams, achieving major gains in quality, efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Norm is a trainer extraordinaire, gifted with many talents and a diverse background. For the last 15 years, he has been a total quality management (TQM) manager and trainer, with a master black belt in Six Sigma and Lean. Norm worked for Volvo Cars of North America in the Total Quality Management field and Organizational Development. He led the TQM deployment at Volvo Cars, including the company-wide assessment using the Malcolm Baldridge Award criteria, training of quality auditors and ISO 9002 certification.

In addition to TQM, Norm’s second passion is sailing. He leads hands-on team building activities using sailing as a metaphor for team work and results. The team sailing experience uses the analogy of sailing to highlight and focus on the real-world behavior, skills and attitudes that make or break teams in the workplace.

Norm has also published two novels, with the third awaiting publication. He has also written two non-fiction works in the quality improvement field. As a husband, father of three, avid writer, choir singer and sailor, he brings a full breath of life to the work he can offer your organization.
